H-1B Visa 2025 Registration Dates Unveiled with Enhanced Process

Companies worldwide sending employees to the United States can now benefit from the streamlined H-1B Electronic Registration Process. On February 28, 2024, the USCIS introduced myUSCIS organizational accounts, facilitating collaboration for multiple individuals within an organization and their legal representatives in preparing H-1B registrations, petitions, and associated Form I-907.

To participate in the H-1B Electronic Registration Process starting March 2024, organizations must create new organizational accounts. The FY 2025 H-1B cap’s initial registration phase begins at noon Eastern on March 6, 2024, and concludes at noon Eastern on March 22, 2024. The 14-day minimum registration period is a prerequisite for the H-1B selection process, allowing only selected registrations for subsequent H-1B cap-subject petitions.

Prospective petitioners, including those eligible for the advanced degree exemption, must electronically register and pay a $10 H-1B registration fee for each beneficiary. This electronic registration process reduces paperwork, enhances efficiency, and provides cost savings to employers.

Starting FY 2025, registrants must furnish valid passport or travel document information for each beneficiary, ensuring alignment with the intended document for US entry with an H-1B visa. USCIS emphasizes registering each beneficiary under a single passport or travel document.

In March, USCIS will launch online filing of Form I-129 and associated Form I-907 for non-cap H-1B petitions. On April 1, online filing opens for H-1B cap petitions and associated Forms I-907 for selected registrants. USCIS addresses potential technical issues for legal representatives whose accounts migrated post-February 14, 2024, extending support beyond H-1B filings.

In December 2023, USCIS met the congressionally mandated caps for FY 2024, underscoring the continued demand for H-1B visas.
