Don’t miss the deadline! The registration period for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Diversity Visa (DV) lottery in the United States concludes at noon EST on November 7, 2023. Interested individuals must submit their online registration forms and digital photos following the strict guidelines provided by the State Department.
For FY 2025, the DV lottery program allocates up to 55,000 green card numbers through a random selection process. Those selected will have the opportunity to apply for a green card in the 2025 fiscal year, starting on October 1, 2024. Eligibility is limited to natives of countries with historically low immigration rates to the U.S., excluding certain countries like Bangladesh, Brazil, China, India, Mexico, and more.
Applicants must have at least a high school education (or equivalent) or two years of qualifying work experience within the past five years. The State Department selects lottery winners randomly using a computer, and results will be available on the official DV lottery entry status website from May 4, 2024, onwards.
It’s crucial to be vigilant against fraudulent DV lottery websites. To safeguard against scams, entrants should rely solely on the official DV website for results and stay informed about potential fraud by consulting the State Department and Federal Trade Commission websites. Remember, the official website is the only legitimate source for lottery results, and the State Department does not notify entrants through letters, emails, faxes, or telephone calls.
