Mayorkas Extends TPS for Cameroon until June 7, 2025
Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas announced an 18-month extension and redesignation of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Cameroon, from December 8, 2023, to June 7, 2025. This is in response to ongoing armed conflict and temporary conditions preventing safe return. The extension allows existing beneficiaries to maintain TPS, and new applicants (7,900 estimated) can apply if they meet eligibility criteria. Re-registration for current beneficiaries is open from October 10, 2023, to December 9, 2023. Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) are automatically extended until December 7, 2024. USCIS continues processing pending applications, and a Federal Register notice provides details on eligibility and procedures.
